End of an era. This colour has been archived.

After much anticipation, Cabernet returns to celebrate GELCARE’s 5th anniversary, now reformulated into Cabernet 2.0. Beloved since its first release, this colour has become a symbol of timeless elegance within the GELCARE library.

The perfect dark burgundy. A shade that effortlessly stands out, Cabernet is perfect for those who appreciate subtle beauty. A timeless and deep jelly burgundy with a hint of purple undertone.

For detailed instructions on how to use Gelcare products, check out Gelcare's Youtube Channel.

  1. Apply base coat. Cure for 60 seconds.
  2. For best colour applications, the thinner the better! To achieve this, pay close attention to the following:
    1. Remove most of the product on your brush by wiping it inside the neck of the bottle.
    2. Scoop a small amount of gel at the tip of your brush from the deposits inside the neck of the bottle.
    3. Apply the drop of gel in the center of the nail and, with precision, push the product to contour the cuticle without touching it. Then, drag the rest of the gel downwards to the tips with steady pressure. Streaks at this point are expected and forgivable!
    4. Do a final pass over the gel by dragging the product from the cuticle to the tip with a light hand to remove any streaks.
  3. Once the gel is covering the entire surface of your nails, cure in the LED lamp for 60 seconds.
  4. Repeat above steps 2 & 3 until the coverage is even. Please refer to the product description for the recommended number of coats for the colour you are using.
  5. Apply top coat. Cure for 3 minutes.

We strongly advise you to cure all your GELCARE gels with the GELCARE lamp since it has been designed to ensure optimal polymerization of our gels.

What does 10-Free mean? It means that we are not using the 10 most harmful chemical ingredients commonly found in other gel polish lines.

This gel polish does not contain:

    • Toluene  You can be exposed to toluene by breathing it in or getting it on your skin, causing skin irritation.  Unfortunately, inhaling high levels of toluene is said to be harmful to your nervous system and can cause light-headedness and nausea.
    • Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)  Commonly used plasticizer and has been linked to cancer.
    • Formaldehyde  Commonly used chemical to preserve and embalm dead animals and humans. Its vapours are also irritating and can trigger asthma.  Formaldehyde is also a known human carcinogen, a factor directly involved in causing cancer.
    • Formaldehyde Resin – A derivative of Formaldehyde, mainly used in the production of coatings and adhesives.  It is not as toxic as Formaldehyde but can be an allergen.
    • Camphor – This chemical acts as a cover on your nails, depriving them of nutrients and causing yellow staining on your nails.
    • Xylene – Irritating to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. It can cause systemic toxicity by ingestion or inhalation.
    • Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP) – Chemical used in plastics to improve flexibility and as a flame retardant. A handful of animal studies and in vitro studies have suggested that it could be an endocrine disrupter that affects your hormones.
    • Hema – This chemical is responsible for a lot of allergic reactions in the beauty industry. It may cause a allergic reaction if this chemical is absorbed by the skin.
    • Parabens – Preservatives that have gotten a bad rep for their estrogen-mimicking effects, which past research has suggested may trigger major health concerns like hormonal problems.
    • Ethyl Tosylamide – Plasticizer that helps transform polish from drippy to dry in minutes.  This ingredient has already been barred from personal care products in Europe due to its antibiotic properties and concern over antibiotic resistance.
